Motivation through challenge; dedication by heart: those are the words that characterize my professional attitude. After having completed my bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering flawlessly in three years, the completion of my academic career seemed closer than ever. Whilst seeking for extracurricular activities, the opportunity to take part in an incredible team of enthusiastic students came across my path. With nine years of sailing experience and three years as a sailing instructor behind me, the maritime world has never been far away. Becoming part of the TU Delft Hydro Motion Team would allow me to combine my interest in boats with my genuine passion for engineering. I had found my challenge.

My background in Mechanical Engineering gives me a broad understanding of nearly all technological subsystems within the project. Furthermore, the Technology Based Entrepreneurship minor has taught me management and organisational skills which I take with me to my role as Chief Vehicle Dynamics of the team this year. Together with my Vehicle Dynamics department we will design all moving subsystems of the boat. Whether it is the hydrofoil, driveline, steering or height control system: each one is a challenge in itself. My task this year is to streamline the realisation of these components and make sure each engineer in my department knows what is to be done, and in which timeframe. I seek to gain experience with a full design- and production-cycle brought to practice. Furthermore, I aspire to develop my skills in management and the integration with engineering. Lastly, I hope to have an incredible year surrounded by an amazing team of friends. Armed with dedication by heart and motivation through the enormous challenge ahead, I am excited to tackle this project!
