@: lena.derouw@solarboatteam.nl The first time I heard about the Solar Boat team, I was immediately super excited. I also wanted to be part of a group of super motivated students working on one common sustainable project. I am still impressed by the intrinsic motivation of the team. Everyone puts their studies on hold, without being paid or earning credits, because we have one common goal: To inspire the maritime sector and show the world the potential of solar energy. It is a very unique situation, where we work together with 20 students from 7 faculties for a year on a project in which we do everything ourselves. We are given the opportunity to put our theoretical knowledge into practice, but this is not only focused on technical challenges. We get a safe environment where you can take risks on a technical and personal level. It is a very intensive year in which you will experience many highs ups and lows downs. You learn a lot about working with eachother and about yourself. All this with the same goal of inspiring the maritime sector and showing what is possible with solar energy. I am very proud to say that I am the team manager of the Solar Boat Team 2020. A great group of people who are able to make a difference together.
