Ever since I heard about student Dreamteams, they have always sparked my interest. After finishing my bachelor’s degree, I started looking for a full time position. I applied for the Solar Boat Team, because of its vision on sustainability, ambitious challenges and all the advanced technology this boat requires. The team appealed to me, because of its high quality engineering, professional appearance and great team spirit.
I want to make my contribution to accelerating the energy transition. By being part of the Solar Boat Team I can help to show that sailing on renewable energy is possible today. In addition, the combination of hydrofoiling, a very efficient hull design, the use of solar energy and other state-of-the-art technologies make this project a great engineering challenge.
My function this year is non-tech, since I am responsible for the finances, acquisition and partner contact. I chose for this to broaden my horizon and take on a new personal challenge. I very much like communication and discovering the business world. Moreover, this year I can develop my leadership skills and combine good management and technology.
By being a member of this amazing team I want to make the full design cycle, production, testing and racing of the next generation solar boat a success. So that together with the team and our partners, we can show that sailing on renewable energy is possible today and we become all-round champions of solar boats.
