In the coming years we’ll become more and more dependent on renewables. To achieve the climate goals and reduce our carbon footprint, we must improve the technology of renewables on every aspect.

From the age of five, I started sailing dinghy’s. Not only sailing, but also other watersports catch my attention. By combining watersports with the creativity of engineers, you can establish very interesting projects and inventions. Just look at the increase of hydrofoils in competitive sailing. By combining aerospace technology with sailing, you’ll end up with foiling yachts which constantly push the boundaries of what is physically possible.

With the TU Delft Solar Boat Team I can help accelerate the transition towards renewable energy while being busy with technologies which fascinate me. As the chief engineer I am responsible for the entire engineering department. It is my responsibility to secure an efficient integration between the different departments while keeping an eye on the overall quality.
