Five years ago, before I started studying at the TU Delft, I saw one of the boats of the TU Delft Hydro Motion Team. From that moment on, I dreamt of becoming part of a Dreamteam. After finishing the bachelor Maritime Technology, I chose to make this dream come true. During this study I learned a lot about the technical side of shipbuilding. Building a self-designed boat and sailing with it are aspects that I have never dealt with before. By working on this project for a year, I hope to broaden this side of maritime technology to get a better idea of ​​the influences from the design phase on the rest of the process. In addition, this year hydrogen will be implemented again. Since the implementation of hydrogen is fairly new, it creates an extra challenge within the team. I see this as a great opportunity for myself to broaden my technical knowledge. By taking on this challenge, I hope to inspire others as well by showing the possibilities for a more sustainable industry and thus contributing to the energy transition. This year I am responsible for the structural analysis of the boat. This means that I will be looking at the loads and their consequences on the boat so that it is strong enough for the race at the end of the year.
