The world is slowly but surely realizing that energy sources on earth are limited. As long as little is done by governments and companies, there will be little changes. Most of the energy on earth comes from the sun. In this energy lies the potential to supply the entire earth with energy. With the Solar Boat Team I want to take a step in that direction and to be the figurehead in how to deal a lot more sustainable with energy.

I came to the Solar Boat Team to become a better engineer and to experience every aspect of the design. What is good about the Solar Boat Team is that you do not have to take consumers into account, but that you really have a lot of design freedom. This way we can really optimize the boat for our race. This year I hope to learn a lot, not only in terms of design, but also in managing a team full of engineers. What I want to leave in the team is a legacy. A good description of everything that we have done this year, how we have dealt with things, what went well, what went wrong and what I would do different next year. In addition, I want to show with the team what we can do as a student team, design a high-engineered solar boat and win the race in Monaco.
