Hydro Motion

Last year, the TU Delft Solar Boat Team 2021 took a new direction. They have started to discover a new sustainable energy applied in boats. They have built a boat that runs on hydrogen. This is the Hydro Motion project.

We want to inspire the whole maritime industry by showing what is possible with a hydrogen powered boat. Together we can take the necessary steps towards sustainable shipping.

The TU Delft Solar Boat Team is a Dream Team of the TU Delft.Our team consists of 24 ambitious students from eleven different faculties.

We take on the challenge of designing, producing and racing a fully functioning hydrogen-powered boat in one year’s time.

Our aim is to accelerate the transition to green energy and to stimulate and develop young talent.
